About the Festival

The African Canadian International Film Festival (ACIFF) is a premier cultural platform dedicated to celebrating Black Canadian, African, Caribbean, and global diasporic cinema. We evaluate the film culture of diverse continents and bridge the gap between filmmaking and social impact through:

  • Film & Media: Showcasing powerful stories that inspire dialogue and preserve cultural memory through the strength of film and media.
  • Education & Panels: Hosting thought-provoking discussions and scholarly exchanges in all aspects of film, business and the public.
  • Industry Development: Creating sustainable pathways for film beginners and workshops for emerging Black filmmakers across continents.
  • Community Engagement: Bringing people together to celebrate film and creative excellence from an unbiased perspective.
  • Master Classes: Experience filmmakers, film entrepreneurs and businessmen are engaged as facilitators to theorize the practicality of the “show” (filmmaking) and the “business” (profits and monetization) within the film and public space.

More Than a Film Festival

ACIFF is a movement for film, media, creative excellence, cultural preservation, and sustainable equity in the film industry from monetization standpoint.
