Mission Statement

ACIFF exists to evaluate, elevate and celebrate Black Canadian, African, and diasporic filmmaking and cinema by creating accessible platforms for cinematic storytelling, artistic development, cultural exchange, and media/public engagement.

Through screenings, education, mentorship, and industry programming, ACIFF empowers emerging and established filmmakers while fostering inclusive conversations from crossed cultural sectors that strengthen communities as well as preserve cultural narratives.

Vision Statement

ACIFF vision is to become Canada’s leading international platform for Canadians, Caribbean and African diasporic cinema, and also recognized globally for advancing cinematography, artistic excellence, cultural innovation, and transformative opportunities for filmmakers of African descent.

ACIFF envisions a future where Black stories are authentic, fully visible, valued, funded, and celebrated across all levels of the global film industry.
