Land Acknowledgement
Grateful to work on this land
The African Canadian International Film Festival respectfully acknowledges that we gather on the traditional, unceded, and unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe Nation.
We honour the Indigenous peoples who have cared for these lands and waters since time immemorial, and we recognize their enduring presence, cultures, contributions, and stewardship.
As a festival dedicated to storytelling, creativity, and cultural exchange, we are committed to fostering respect, inclusion, reconciliation, and meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities.
We also celebrate the diverse voices of African, Caribbean, Canadian, and global communities whose stories help connect people across cultures and generations.
